The Bell of Pressburg by Elena Bolceková and Peter Simoník

THE BELL OF PRESSBURG

A bell-founder Fabian had a beautiful young wife. The Mayor of Pressburg placed the order for the city hall bell in his foundry, just to get her. While Fabian was working days and nights, the mayor seduced his wife.

Because streets have their eyes and ears, the beel-founder learned about the infidelity. In warm blood Fabian jabbed the mayor into flaming alloy, he left both his wife and Pressburg behind. But he finished the bell – its thunder voice beats into one’s heart. Or maybe into conscience?
